Professional Experiences

Mr. Salihu is the founder of MELA HOLDING GROUP SRL with 4 companies and 1 NGO, with the prospect of expanding and investing in other parts of Europe. All the companies represent involvement across many industries, driving them continuously to grow and support a sustainable economy.

Mr. Salihu is known for his contributions that he has been giving to the Albanian community in Serbia, specifically about the right of residence. He never surrendered in addressing the issue of the Digital Ethnic Cleansing through the passivization of the addresses as a matter of vital importance for the rights of the Albanian community in south of Serbia.

2019

Mr. Salihu graduated in Economics and Finance from the University of Zug, in Switzerland

2022

Co-author of the book “Etnosi i Medvegjes”, published in 2022 a unique social, cultural and historical framework made possible thanks to the teamwork of twenty ethnographic researchers.

The event was preceded by a scientific conference on 2nd May 2019, organized to inaugurate the Medvegja Ethnographic Museum.


2016 – Until Now

He is currently a member of several organizations and associations that promote relevant and important social and political issues:

Member of the Board of Directors of “Panalbanian Economic Forum”;

Member of the Board of Directors of “Albanian American Civil League”,

Member of the Board of Directors of “Council of Albanian Ambassadors”,

Member of Board of Director of University “Tempulli“, Pristina, Kosovo.

Mr. Salihu, in 2016, founded the NGO AFEDS “Albanian Forum for Economic Development in Serbia” in Serbia, with the main aim of promoting economic development as the best way to stabilize social life and cohesion between different ethnic groups. The NGO AFEDS is associated with other well-known international organizations as Pledge to Peace and “Associazione Percorsi Onlus“.


2016 – Until Now

Spokesman through the mass media – Mr. Salihu has been interviewed for the most eminent national and private TV channels in Albania, Kosovo and VOA. He also wrote numerous articles for well-known newspapers in Albania, Serbia, Kosovo and Italy, dealing always with the issues of the digital deportation that the Albanian population in Serbia is suffering.


1992

Referendum – On 1st and 2nd March 1992 there was the referendum of the people of Medvedje, Bujanoc and Presheve for territorial and politic self-government as well as the right to be annexed to Kosovo, in case of the Ex-YU’s dissolution. Historical event of fundamental importance that Mr. Salihu, as First Secretary of the humanitarian association “Mother Teresa”, has contributed in a crucial way to make it happen. 98% of population joined the referendum. Mr. Salihu was one the founders of the association “Mother Teresa” in 1988 in Fully – Switzerland where he used to live since 1986, forced to move from his country because of the deportation policies implemented by the Serbian government.

The deportation of Albanian people in south of Serbia is still going on through some new and contemporaneous ways.
