Master's Degree in History of the Performing Arts Minor
The Master's Degree in History of the Minor Performing Arts offers in-depth training on the so-called arts defined as “minor” not to diminish their technical, cultural and expressive value but to distinguish them from the other performing arts that have enjoyed greater dissemination especially in the contemporary era, presenting the student with a comprehensive picture of these arts, their development through the centuries, their socio-cultural impact in both their original and subsequent eras, and introducing him or her to the critical methods of art-historical analysis. Successful completion of this degree program will result in 120 ECTS.
Modules and content
Upon completion of the Master's Degree in History of the Performing Arts Minor, the student will have developed those analytical skills, combined with autonomous and independent critical thinking, that will enable him or her to critically address the subjects under study by emphasizing their communicative and cultural value grafted within the historical context of reference, and will lead him or her to master the languages of each medium enabling him or her to make stylistic judgments supported by solid technical, historical and cultural knowledge.
