Ph.D. (Philosophiae Doctor) in Science of Religions
The Ph.D. cycle in Science of Religions is an advanced course of study, research training and research offered by UniCampus HETG. Open-ended and multidisciplinary, it represents the natural outlet and the main area of application and enhancement of the skills gained by the student in previous courses of study in the same disciplinary area.
If the first cycle (Bachelor's) offered a fundamental introduction to the Sciences of Religions and the main methodological areas (anthropological, sociological, historical), the second (Master's) enabled its specialized application to the three main areas of study and teaching in the field: the ancient Greco-Roman world, the Judaic and Islamic Middle East, and Latin and Byzantine Christianity.
The Doctorate (Ph.D.) implies the deepening and completion of the academic training received: by focusing on the multifaceted nature of the religious fact, it fosters a high-profile objective understanding of it by integrating the critical-systematic approach with the diachronic/intercultural focus.
The culmination of this itinerary, in which preparation and personal aptitudes converge, consists in the realization of original and innovative research, such as to make a real contribution to the progress of the field.
